January Meeting Happenings

Officers and Board Members were elected during the club's January meeting.  All 2015 officers and board members were re-elected;  Billy Latham as president, Judd Thomas as vice-president, Ellis Silvey as treasurer, and Billy Hensley as secretary.  Re-elected board members were Eugene Hensley, Kaleb Hensley, Bob Smith, Kathy Smith, Don Deems, and Chuck Beck.
Deer antlers were scored at the meeting to determine winners of the club's 2015 deer season contests.  Winning first place in the archery contest was Ellis Silvey with Terry Thurman finishing in second place.  Eugene Hensley took first place honors in the primitive firearms contest and Judd Thomas came in second.  In rifle season, Billy Hensley won first place and Kaleb Hensley finished in second place. Just 2 inches of measurements separated first and second place in the primitive firearms contest.  In rifle season, 13 inches separated first and second place.
The club also started making plans for this year's annual awards banquet that will be held on Saturday, March 5.  Members voted to give an ABU Revo S reel away as the men's door prize and a $75.00 gift card to Wal-mart as the ladies door prize.
The club's bass tournament schedule was finalized as all permits for the tournaments had been approved.  A schedule is linked at the right of this web page.  For the past month we have been having some technical difficulties with our links but my "smarter than the average husband" wife has gotten all the bugs worked out (we hope).
The club's next meeting will be Thursday, February 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Wildlife Heritage Center and Museum.

January Meeting

Members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club will meet on Thursday, January 14, in the Wildlife Heritage Center at 7:30 p.m.  Several items will be on the agenda. Officers will be elected (which is just a formality since no new people were nominated for officers or board members).  Also, members that entered the 2015 deer season contest need to bring their antlers to the meeting to be measured to determine winners of each contest.  Bass tournament schedules will be available for members to pick up at the meeting.  Also, plans for this year's annual awards banquet will be in the making. The banquet is scheduled for Saturday, March 5, at 6:00 p.m. in the Antlers High School cafeteria.  Hope to see you there.
