Members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a bass tournament at Pine Creek Lake on Saturday, June 22. The day started off with clear skies and a light breeze with a temp of about 70 degrees. The light breeze held for most of the day and the temperature rose quickly to the low nineties. The lake was about 3.5 feet above normal. Twelve of the twenty-three anglers that were entered caught their club limit of five bass.
Ellis Silvey won the event with a five fish limit that
weighed 11.96 pounds. Billy Hensley
finished in second place, also with a five fish limit that weighed 11.62 pounds. Forrest Cave came in third with a stringer
weight of 10.30 pounds. Ellis Silvey caught a bass that weighed 3.82 pounds to
win the big bass of the tournament.
The club’s next bass tournament will be held on Saturday,
July 13, at Hugo Lake. Fishing times
will be voted on at the club’s monthly meeting on Thursday, July 11. Launch site for the tournament will be the Frazier
Creek boat ramp.
