Members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a bass tournament at Pine Creek Lake on Saturday, July 12. The day started off with cloudy skies and a light breeze and a temp of about 70 degrees. The light breeze gave way to light thundershowers and stronger winds in the afternoon. The lake was near normal level. Twenty of the thirty-two anglers that were entered in the tournament caught their limit of five bass. Five anglers were unable to boat a single keeper.
Judd Thomas won the event with a five fish limit that
weighed 13.20 pounds. Terry Thurman
finished in second place, getting edged out by a mere one one-hundredth of a
pound. Terry’s stringer weighed 13.19 pounds. Josh Johnson came in third with a
stringer weight of 12.81 pounds. Josh also caught a bass that weighed 3.38
pounds to win the big bass of the tournament.
The club’s next bass tournament will be held on Saturday,
July 26, at Hugo Lake. Fishing times
will be from “safe light” until 3:00. Launch
site for the tournament will be the Frazier Creek boat ramp.
