September Meeting

Members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club will meet on Thursday, September 10, at 7:30 p.m.  Meetings are held at the Wildlife Heritage Center and Museum.  This will be the last regular monthly meeting until December.  There are several items on the agenda for the meeting.

Members will vote on fishing times for the club’s last regular season bass tournament.  The tournament will take place on Saturday, September 12, at Hugo Lake and will launch from the Frazier Creek boat ramp. The results from this tournament will finalize positions for the Annual Top Ten Tournament that will be held on Saturday, September 19.  The anglers with the top ten total weights for the year, along with up to five wild card positions, will compete against each other in this tournament.  The “top ten” meeting will be held on Thursday, September 17.

This will also be the last regular monthly meeting before deer archery season begins.  Those members wishing to enter the club’s deer archery contest, or any of the other deer season contest, can pay their entry fee at this meeting.  The club holds a contest for each of Oklahoma’s three deer seasons; archery, primitive firearms and rifle seasons.  Entry fees for the contest must be paid before a season begins.  First and second place prizes are awarded in each category based on measurements of a deer’s antlers using the Boone and Crockett scoring system.
