Sardis Lake Bass Tournament & TOP TEN STANDINGS

Sardis Lake Bass Tournament

July 11, 2015

On Saturday, July 11, members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a bass tournament on Sardis Lake. The temperature for July was fairly moderate, warming into the low nineties.  Anglers had to contend with a stiff breeze, which is quite typical for Sardis Lake, and mostly sunny skies. The lake was just over six feet above normal level. Only two anglers were able to catch a six fish limit while most had trouble locating and catching keeper bass in the flood water.

Judd Thomas was the first place winner.  Judd had a stringer weight of 16.17 pounds.  Judd also caught the biggest bass of the tournament with a bass weighing 6.39 pounds.  Billy Latham finished in second place with a six fish limit that weighed 15.10 pounds.  Ellis Silvey, also with a six fish limit, came in third with a stringer weight of 13.25 pounds.

The club’s next event will be a bass tournament on Hugo Lake.  The tournament is scheduled for July 25 and will launch from the Frazier Creek boat ramp. Fishing times will be from “safe light” until 3:30 p.m.  At this time the ramp at Frazier Creek is closed due to high water.  Hopefully, it will be open by the tournament date.  Check the club’s website at www.pushcountysportsmanclub.blogspot.com for updates.  If the ramp is not available, updates for the tournament will be posted on the site.

The club meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m.  Meetings are held at the Wildlife Heritage Center and Museum. If you are interested in joining the club, please feel free to attend a meeting.
